28 1 - Who is the World's Fastest Court Reporter? Who is the World's Fastest Court Reporter? The average person speaks at about 160-180 words per minute. The average court reporting student graduates at a speed of about 225 words a minute. Mark Kislingbury currently holds the Guinness World Record as the fastest court reporter, writing at 360 words per minute! And in August, at the 2013 NCRA Convention in Nashville, 6 writers (including Mark) will attempt to break that world record, going for 400 words per minute!
